Basic Eligibility to apply for RRB ALP & technician posts:
Age limit is mentioned for general candidates is 18 to 28 years as on 01/7/2018. Complete age relaxation conditions are mentioned in Para 5.1 in advertisement. The citizenship details are completely provided in Para 4.0
Application registration fees is 500 rupees only for general category for Stage I examination. SC ST OBC & Reservation class categories are charged 250/- initially. Their money is refunded after Stage I exam attendance.
If the applicant works in any of state & Central government bodies, he must procure a No-Objection Letter favouring his application to post.

There were no physical eligibility tests in RRB ALP & Technician recruitment. But applicants must pass two stages CBT exams (Computer Based Test).
First stage Computer based test schedule is not yet finalised. First RRB ALP admit cards & Technician hall tickets are issued. Then exam schedule is released along with them.
After online exams are finished, RRB will issue results for ALP & Technician Stage I exam. People who have got desired scores for shortlisting are allowed to attempt Second stage Exam. Stage 2 CBT exam will decide candidate’s knowledge and his subject expertise.

Stage I exam pattern:
This Online computer test have 75 questions from various subjects. Applicants need to fill all the answers within 60 minutes. Questions are prepared to test candidate’s educational standards, Technical knowledge & his logical ability.
Exam Syllabus & Questions weight-age:
Subjects belonging to mathematics of Intermediate standard are appeared in first 20 set. Second set has General intelligence & reasoning. Third part will be from General science as per SSC standard. Fourth part will be from GK & Current affairs. Some questions about indian railways are also asked.
RRB ALP Technician Stage II CBT exam pattern:
This exam has two parts named A & B. part A has 100 Questions, Part B has 75 questions. Time allotted to part A is 90 Minutes, Part B is 60 Minutes.
ALP Stage II Part A exam syllabus:
Four parts are divided for 100 questions. First part will cover mathematics questions. Second will check applicant’s general intelligence & Reasoning ability. Third part comprised of basic Science & Engineering topics. Current affairs, general awareness are occupied in fourth part.
Technician & ALP Stage II Part B Exam syllabus:
This is the tricky part for applicants. Each applicant who have polytechnic, ITI all trades must choose their Category. There are different categories like Electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering. For HSC students 10+2 physics & mathematics are asked. They are to be applied only for Electrician mechanic or wire man. Each trade syllabus can be downloaded from DGET portal. RRB ALP Syllabus remains the same. But Technician syllabus is different.

Recently, i.e on 31st March online application registration for CEN 01/2018 was closed. More than 1 crore applicants are eagerly waiting to know the current status of RRB ALP Admit cards, Schedule and Exam time table. We might think that rrb will some how manage the exam to be finished by May or June itself.
